Most people hang their neon LED sign on the included chain. But there is a more refined way: with standoffs the sign sits 3 cm (1.2") in front of the wall and appears to float. The light from the LED silicone tubing then shines backwards too and casts a soft halo onto the wall – an effect you know from bars, hotels and showrooms. Our stainless-steel standoffs are the best-selling accessory in our shop.
What are standoffs?
Standoffs are small metal cylinders that are screwed to the wall through the pre-drilled holes in the sign's acrylic. Ours are made of stainless steel (M8), hold the sign 3 cm (1.2") off the wall and come in black, silver, white or gold.

How to mount your sign with standoffs
- Choose the position: hold the sign against the wall and level it with a spirit level. Plan the cable route to the socket or USB adapter at the same time.
- Mark the holes: mark the four holes with a pencil through the openings in the acrylic.
- Drill and insert wall plugs: watch out for electrical and water lines and use the right drill bit for your wall.
- Fix the standoffs: screw the standoff bases into the wall plugs with the included screws.
- Attach the sign: place the sign on the bases and screw the caps on tight. Connect the cable – done.
Tips for the perfect floating effect
- Light, smooth wall: on white or pale grey the halo behind the sign is most visible.
- Colour of the standoffs: black for dark walls, silver or white for light ones, gold for warm interiors.
- Hide the cable: run the cable down behind the sign – the gap leaves enough room.
