Stainless Steel Cable Suspension for Neon LED Signs – Set of 2 | Ceiling Mounting

This set is made for ceiling mounting, not for the wall. The sign hangs freely and is visible from both sides.

When in doubt, take the longer one: excess cable can be shortened with pliers, missing cable cannot be extended.

Two points so it hangs level. One set contains two complete suspensions. They go on the ceiling at the same spacing as the two mounting points on the top edge of your sign – so the panel hangs horizontally and does not turn.

1. Measure the spacing – measure the two mounting points on the top edge of the sign and mark that spacing on the ceiling. Both points must sit on one line, otherwise the sign hangs crooked.
2. Fit the ceiling plates – drill at the marked spots, insert the plugs and screw the ceiling plates down with the self-tapping screws supplied. In concrete or plasterboard ceilings, use the plug type that suits the material.
3. Attach the clamps – slide the clamp over the top edge of the acrylic panel and tighten the M5 hex screw hand-tight. Do not overtighten – acrylic is sensitive to too much pressure.
4. Set the height – press the spring catch on the cable, slide the sign to the height you want and let go. Set both cables the same and the panel hangs level.

Tip: set the height with two people. One holds the sign, one works the catch – far quicker than doing it alone.

The cable suspension is plugged into the ceiling. How securely it holds depends on that ceiling – the set is only ever as strong as the anchor above it.

• Use the right plug for your ceiling. The plugs supplied are meant for solid materials. For plasterboard, cavity or timber ceilings you need the plug type made for them.
• Use both suspensions. With only one cable the sign turns and the whole load hangs from a single point.
• Tighten the hex screw hand-tight and check it again after the first few days. Overtightened, it can crack the acrylic panel.
• Do not mount above seating, beds, counters with guests or glass tables. Anything hanging freely belongs above a space where a fall would do no harm.
• Check the fit regularly. Slamming doors, draughts and vibration act on every ceiling mount.
• Check for cables and pipes. Always use a detector before drilling into a ceiling.

What is the stainless steel cable suspension for?
For ceiling mounting. The sign hangs from two stainless steel cables, freely in the room – in a shop window, above a counter or in a reception area. The set is not intended for wall mounting.

Will my acrylic panel fit the clamp?
The clamp takes panels up to 10 mm thick. Our neon LED signs are made of 6 mm acrylic glass and fit with room to spare.

How long is the cable?
You choose between 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 m. You fine-tune the height via the spring catch – press the catch, slide to height, let go. Any excess cable can be shortened with pliers.

Do I have to drill into the ceiling?
Yes. The ceiling plates are plugged and screwed; plugs and self-tapping screws are included. For plasterboard, cavity or timber ceilings, please use the matching plug type.

Do I need both suspensions?
Yes. With only one cable the sign turns and the entire load hangs from one point. Two cables keep the panel level and steady.

Do I have to drill a hole in the acrylic?
No. The clamp slides over the top edge of the panel and grips it with the M5 hex screw. No extra holes are needed.

Does the set rust?
Cable and fittings are stainless steel. They do not rust and do not yellow, even after years in a shop window.

How long does delivery take?
Accessories are in stock. Ordered together with a sign, everything ships together – the sign's delivery time of 6–14 days then applies.
